Helen Winter, an inspirational artist, has earned her reputation as a talented musician and skillful performer. From concert work, opera, musicals, studio sessions and more, Helen continues to touch audiences around the world with her distinct and enjoyable vocal quality.

BIOGRAPHY
Music has the power to transport us to another time and place. Helen Winter loves to harness that power with a broad audience of fellow music lovers and passionate musicians alike. Ever since a young age, Helen has found great joy and satisfaction in making music and sharing it with audiences all over the world.
Born in Grantham, Lincolnshire, Helen is an accomplished soloist who has a wide-ranging career in recital work as well as opera, choral, stage performances, teaching and directing.
Hailing from a very musical background and family, she was encouraged to follow her singing ambition and gained her BMus Honours after studying at Trinity College of Music, London, with Professor Susan McCulloch.
Following this, Helen was a member of the BBC Singers whilst studying at ‘The Knack’, an Opera training course with English National Opera.

Helen’s operatic roles have included Ninetta in The Love for three Oranges (Prokofiev) for English Pocket Opera; Musician in Manon Lescaut (Puccini); Apparition in Macbeth (Verdi), Barena in Jenufa (Janacek), Voce Interna in L’amore dei tre Re (Montemezzi), and Monterone’s daughter in Rigoletto (Verdi), all for Opera Holland Park; Musetta in La Boheme (Puccini) and Adele in Die Fledermaus (Strauss) in Spain for ‘Singing in Aragon’ with European Chamber Opera and Lucy in The Telephone (Menotti).

Recital and Concert work regularly takes her abroad. She has performed all of the major Oratorios and has had the pleasure of working with conductors including Nicholas Cleobury (Britten Sinfonia), Mark Elder (Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment), Nigel Morley (Boston Sinfonia), Peter Robinson (City of London Sinfonia) and Stephen Jackson (BBC Symphony Chorus). Helen has performed in many prestigious venues as a soloist, such as Saint Thomas Kirche (Leipzig), The Royal Festival Hall (London), Symphony Hall (Birmingham) and St. David’s Hall (Cardiff), amongst others.

Having worked in the West End on several shows with David Grindrod and Andrew Lloyd Webber, she then went on to perform in The Sound Of Music LIVE on ITV produced by David Grindrod. Helen then went on to perform Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Magic Flute, & toured Ireland and the UK performing Mozart's best loved pieces.
In 2018 Helen became Honorary President for Grantham Operatic Society after the death of her Father, Geoffrey Winter, who founded the society in 1957.

Currently Helen is performing the title role in Puccini's Suor Angelica for Opera Anywhere and she has just released her third album entitled 'Footprints'.

Helen is also a very experienced vocal teacher and language coach. She has been Head of Singing at several schools in London and the South of England. Helen is now delighted to have taken on the position of Head of Singing at Repton School and is also the Principal singing tutor at Lincoln Minster School.
